Ben Gaines

Sr. Managing Director

Ben Gaines is a Managing Director at Shadow Lake Advisors. Ben leads all aspects of the firm’s use of data, technology, and information as well as technology due diligence and the use of technology in value creation for our clients. Ben’s 20+ year career began in the Marine Corps and has since spanned business leadership and technology.

Prior to his role at Shadow Lake, Ben was a Senior Vice President at Bank of America’s Data Controls and Mapping Operations team. At Bank of America, Ben developed models to identify insights, relationships, and instances of potential data corruption from petabytes of network data. Before his career in tech, Ben served as an officer in the Marine Corps (he is still in the reserves). As a Marine Officer, Ben led Marine and Marine Special Operations Raider teams on numerous deployments throughout the Middle East and Africa. Ben graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Economics and French and earned an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, wherein he specialized in data modeling.
